ST-7E Color Images (manual gel filters)

Note: to view all of the detail in these images, you may need to adjust the brightness and contrast controls on your monitor! Generally, increasing brightness reveals subtle details.

This image was made with an ST-7E and a simple filter box into which I inserted gelatin filters manually. The color balance is off -- and I forgot to use my IR Blocking filter! -- but this does serve as proof of concept.

Seeing conditions were clear with the 65% moon just rising. However, there was a 10 mph variable surface wind, and some clouds and fast-moving winds aloft, so seeing was pretty turbulent. Guiding was somewhat chaotic as a result of the turbulence.
